Five acres, drawn to scale and clickable. Ali'i Gardens Marketplace interactive booth map.

Ali'i Gardens Marketplace put its real floor plan online as an interactive map, with a page per vendor, a portal where tenants maintain their own listings, and Stripe billing.

Client background

Ali'i Gardens Marketplace is a five-acre open-air market in Kailua-Kona, home to 46 local vendors operating their own booths.

Business challenge

An open-air market is hard to put online because the thing a visitor wants to know is spatial. Which booth sells what, and where is it when I am standing at the entrance.

The operator's problem is different again. A directory is only useful if it is current, and a market with dozens of independent tenants cannot keep one current by hand, so market websites decay into a list of businesses that left two seasons ago.

Delivering the solution

The map is hand-built from the real floor plan. Every booth is drawn to scale, colored by category, and clickable, so browsing the site works the way walking the market does.

Behind the map is a searchable directory and a full page for each vendor: their story, hours, photos, featured items with prices, and their own booth highlighted on the plan.

Vendors keep all of it current themselves through a portal, from their phones, which is the only version of this that survives contact with a working market. The operator gets oversight without becoming the bottleneck.

Billing runs on Stripe with a self-serve customer portal, so the operator manages the hosting plan without an invoice to chase.

Ali'i Gardens Marketplace Launches Interactive Booth Map and Vendor Portal

The five-acre Kailua-Kona market puts 46 vendors on a scale drawing of its real floor plan, with self-service listing management. Built by Internal Automation.

Ali'i Gardens Marketplace has launched an interactive map of its five-acre open-air market in Kailua-Kona, built by Internal Automation.

The map is drawn from the market's real floor plan, with every booth rendered to scale, colored by category, and individually selectable. A searchable directory accompanies it, along with a dedicated page for each of the market's 46 vendors covering their story, hours, photographs, and featured items with prices, and highlighting their booth on the plan.

Vendors maintain their own listings through a portal accessible from a mobile device, including descriptions, hours, photographs, menu items, and events.

Subscription billing runs on Stripe with a self-serve customer portal for the hosting plan.

Ali'i Gardens Marketplace owns the map, the vendor portal, and the billing integration.
